Popular Hausa Singer, Nazir M. Ahmad who is called Sarkin Waka (King of Music) has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command. Nazir was arrested on Wednesday, 4th of November, 2020.

The report of Nazir Ahmad's arrest was made public by his elder brother and Kannywood producer Mal. Aminu Saira on his verified Instagram page @ https://www.instagram.com/p/CHLdrnGldzJ/?igshid=63x2bxx0yafg and some of his colleagues as well. The reason for his arrest is unknown yet.
However, it believed that it is in connection with his case with the Kano Censorship Board of September 2019. In 2019 Nazir was arrested for allegedly releasing two uncensored musical albums and operating an illegal studio. It was alleged that the album released by Nazir were politically motivated. He was later released on Bail as his elder brother Mal. Aminu Saira stood for him.
