The office of the President has revealed the position of President Muhammadu Buhari on the issue of killer herdsmen in the country.
According to his special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the President's position is that any herdsman found with arms unlawfully should be arrested and prosecuted.
He made this known while responding to a question from Seun Okinbare on Channels Television's programmed tagged, $ Politics Today".
According to him, the President has spoken on this matter and no Governor should say he hasn't heard the president's position on this matter. " Because a number of times the President has spoken on that issue and his position has always been the same, anybody who carries arms unlawfully should be arrested and and prosecuted."
Speaking further he made it known that "No matter who he is or where he comes from, criminality is criminality. Anybody bearing arms unlawfully will and must be be arrested and prosecuted. This is the position f the President.
However this is coming in the wake of a time when the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom had said he petitioned Buhari on the activities of killer herdsmen
Orton had stated this as HW called for the arrest of Miyetti Allah leaders.
